Welcome to the Zambia Embassy in Beijing!!!
Our objective is imbedded in our
mission statement, which is to effectively promote and protect Zambia’s
interests and maintain good international relations in order to
contribute to sustainable development. In trying to do so, the Embassy
endeavours to promote Zambia’s relations with China politically,
economically, culturally and also in the area of defence and security.
The relations between our two countries dates back 45 years and
has seen it grow from strength to strength.
Through this website, we, at the
Zambia Embassy, are resolved to providing appropriate information
to the general public and our esteemed clients on Zambia in general,
consular services and also in the area of Trade and investment.
We will continue to do so in a visionary manner with complete transparency
and integrity.
Zambia is a country that offers
immeasurable opportunities. In order to translate the identified
potential in our various sectors, the Embassy is closely working
with the government agencies, such as Ministry of Commerce, Trade
and Industry, Zambia Development Agency, Zambia Tourism Board to
create and disseminate tangible opportunities for Sectoral investments.
Opportunities exist in many areas, notably in Agriculture, construction,
Health, Education, Mining and quarrying, tourism etc. Relevant information
can be found on the specific sectors for investment opportunities
available on our website under ‘’economic, trade and
investment section’’.
The website will give you an opportunity
to understand Zambia not only as a country but as an ideal place
for investment and what it offers as a tourist destination. Zambia
is home of the Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders
of the world and many other magnificent waterfalls, spectacular
wildlife, super safaris, great adventures, rich culture and unbelievably
friendly people.

SECOND PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA,
DR FREDERICK CHILUBA DIES

Dr. Frederick Jacob Titus Chiluba (April 30, 1943
– June 18, 2011)
Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to the People’s
Republic of China, Her Excellency, Joyce Chembe Musenge (Mrs.) regrets
to announce the death of Dr. Frederick Chiluba, Zambia’s Second
Republican President who pastaway on 18th June, 2011 after a short
illness. He died at his Kabulonga home in Lusaka during the early
hours of the day.
The Late Dr. Chiluba will be remembered for being
one of the pioneers of the reintroduction of multi-party politics
in Zambia and being the first President of the ruling Movement for
Multi-Party Democracy (MMD). He undertook two visits to The People's
Republic of China during his tenure from 1991 to 2001. The first
one was an Official visit in 1993, whilst the second one was a State
visit in 2000.
As we remember him during the one week national
mourning, the Embassy will open a book of Condolences at
the Chancery for the leadership from the host government
, the Diplomatic Community, Zambian Community and any other persons
that may so wish, to sign. This will run from 09:00 am to
5:00 pm from the 23rd to 25th of June, 2011,
The Embassy will further conduct prayers at the
Chancery, for the late Dr. Chiluba on day of his burial on 27th
June, 2011 at 1430hrs. Zambians and friends wishing to attend the
prayers are welcome to do so.

PRESS RELEASE

The government of the People’s Republic of
China has described the late Former President Dr. Frederick Titus
Jacob Chiluba as an outstanding politician who attached great importance
to the development of the relations between Zambia and China. In
a message signed in the book of condolences at the Embassy of the
Republic of Zambia in Beijing on 25th June, 2011, Mr. Zhang Kun
Sheng, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the late
Dr. Chiluba made outstanding contributions to promote the friendship
and cooperation between Zambia and China, and as such the Chinese
leadership would like to express its deep sorrow over his death.
Later, during a brief meeting he held with Zambia’s
Ambassador to China, Her Excellency, Mrs. Joyce Chembe Musenge,
Mr. Zhang praised the Zambian government for mourning the Late Dr.
Chiluba with dignity and according the Chinese leadership and its
nationals, an opportunity to mourn him with the people of Zambia
in Beijing. In response, Ambassador Musenge expressed her appreciation
on behalf of the Zambian government over the Chinese government’s
message of condolences.
She said she was deeply touched by the gesture that
signified true friendship between the two countries. She reassured
the Minister of Zambia’s commitment to continued cordial relations
with China.
On the late Dr. Chiluba, she said he greatly contributed to the
reintroduction of multi-party politics, liberal economic reforms
in Zambia and that as a former trade unionist he had a great passion
for workers’ rights.
